PACE's Peter Boal presents the U.S. physician aging demographics. Dr. Dilip Jeste (UCSD Psychiatry/Neurosciences), presenting on the topic of "healthful" aging and strategies to improve the likelihood of successful aging in the physician population. Definitions of successful aging in terms of wisdom, social cognition and optimal decision making are explored. He provides case examples of successful aging, scientific data that demonstrates the neuroplasticity of the human brain, and evidence-based strategies for increasing the likelihood of aging successfully for all of us.
