LA JOLLA, CA – Because pain manifests uniquely in men and women, distinctive treatment strategies are needed. In response, UCTV presents the second season of “Pain Management in Women Over the Lifecycle,” an 11-part series airing Thursdays at Noon (Pacific) during UCTV’s “Med Hour.” All programs will also be archived for free on-demand viewing from the UCTV website.
Presented by the UCSD School of Medicine and the Diana Padelford Binkley Foundation, “Pain Management in Women Over the Lifecyle” features world renowned physicians and researchers from the University of California and beyond. September’s installments include “Brain-Immune Connections in Health and Disease” (Sept. 6), “Gender Differences in the Use of Complementary and Alternative Medicine” (Sept. 13), “Overview of Sex and Gender Differences in Pain” (Sept. 20), and “Sexual Dimorphism in Pain Syndromes and Response to Analgesics” (Sept. 27)
A list of programs in this series and all of UCTV’s “Med Ed Hour” programming is available at http://www.uctv.tv/meded.
