Press Release: UCTV Comes To San Francisco (6/2/2003)
Programming from the University of California Every Weekday on Comcast Channel 27
SAN DIEGO, June 2, 2003 --- All summer long, San Francisco basic cable subscribers can tune in to Comcast Channel 27 for a diverse mix of enriching and informative programming from University of California Television (UCTV). Every weekday from 1:00pm to 7:00pm on San Francisco's educational access channel EAtv 27, viewers can enjoy interviews, lectures, documentaries, and performances from all the UC campuses and affiliated institutions, covering subjects such as health and medicine, science, public affairs, and the arts.
With programs from UC San Francisco and Berkeley, local audiences can share in the multitude of knowledge and activity generated from the prestigious UC institutions housed right in their community. UCSF's annual "Mini Medical School" public lectures are now accessible to the city's television audience via UCTV, so valuable medical information can more readily reach the community UCSF intends to serve. UC Berkeley's thought-provoking programs from the Institute for International Studies, the Goldman School of Public Policy, the Graduate School of Journalism, and more allow San Francisco residents to take part in Berkeley's exciting campus activities without even crossing the Bay Bridge.
UCTV's thematic program schedule allows San Francisco viewers to appreciate the full spectrum of available programming during the weekdays on channel 27.
