As many as five million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease, a number that is expected to quadruple in 40 years. This affliction destroys brain cells, hobbling memory, thinking and behavior. UC Davis neuroscientist Charles DeCarli, says researchers have been able to identify which enzymes lead to the creation of an abnormal protein. (#15910)
