In celebration of National Poetry Month, University of California Television (UCTV) is highlighting its extensive archive of poetry programs for its worldwide audience. Saturday afternoons and evenings beginning April 8, UCTV presents UC Berkeley’s long-running noontime poetry reading series “Lunch Poems,” featuring both world-renowned and emerging poets reading their work and sharing their insights. Poetry lovers can also browse and view UCTV’s “on-demand” video archive of poetry programs from throughout the UC system at www.uctv.tv/poetry and subscribe to receive poetry podcasts at www.uctv.tv/podcasts.
Visitors to UC Berkeley’s “Lunch Poems” poetry reading series run the gamut of creativity and diversity. With guests like Maxine Hong Kingston (airing April 8), Robert Hass and Barbara Guest (who recently passed away) on April 22, and Mei-mei Berssenbrugge on April 29, poetry aficionados and novices alike will surely enjoy this unique literary experience.
